Chamber Ambassadors are responsible for promoting a professional atmosphere in which to establish business contacts. Committee members serve as greeters at Chamber functions, welcome new members to the Chamber and encourage member participation through phone calls and personal contacts. They help introduce new members to Chamber activities by serving as “buddies” during a new member’s first year.
This committee is responsible for generating a healthy climate for economic, business, industrial, and civic growth, while identifying areas of concern. It is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and helping to formulate legislative issues; hold events with local, state, and national governmental officials; evaluate ballot issues that affect local businesses and the community and make recommendations to the Chamber Board for endorsements. Committee members also work hand-in-hand with Chamber staff to plan, organize and promote local legislative events and legislative trips to Raleigh and Washington, DC when feasible.
This committee promotes and partners with workforce and education initiatives. Its mission is to encourage on-going interaction between the business community and local educational institutions in order to ensure a skilled and productive workforce.
The Leader In Me
Understanding that schools are crucial to the future of our community, the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Richmond County Schools to implement a new education initiative entitled The Leader In Me.
The Leader in Me (TLIM) is a school-wide transformational process being implemented in nearly 2,000 elementary and middle schools across the United States, Canada, and other parts of the world. Schools that have fully applied the TLIM process report direct and indirect impacts in three general areas: leadership skills, school culture, and academics.
The Leader in Me™ gives students the leadership and life skills needed to succeed in a fast-paced and competitive business environment. The Leader in Me™ program is providing daily opportunities for students to learn valuable skills to succeed in life. The program is based on the Franklin Covey book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
